 Mumpreneur Roslyn Bell Offers Lessons of Survival, Courage and Hope
Audiences are basking in a new ray of business sunshine called Roslyn Bell. She not only proves that ladies don't have to be a tough nut to be a major success, she is living proof that you can bounce back from terrible adversity and triumph.
Roslyn Bell highlights as a keynote speaker how a brush with death in a horrific car crash, near death experience and overcoming major surgery for cervical cancer, made her determined to fulfil her dreams and make the most of the gift of life.
Success didn't come easy, there was turmoil to overcome which was not just physical but mental. Her courageous story will be featured in a television documentary in 2011 and a soon to be published book called 'I will be home in 20 minutes' showing the inner strength and courage she found to survive the near fatal crash which left her horribly injured.
To look at her stunning looks today you would never know that the car steering wheel hit her in the face and detached the left hand side of her face from the cheek. She also suffered multiple fractures and injuries including:
- Fractured skull
- Broken right foot
- Smashed right ankle and leg
- Broken knee cap on left leg
- Cracked pelvis
- Two vertabrae compressed
- Two ribs broken
- Breast bone broken
“After the accident and all the things that happened in that five year period made me realise that if my life had have ended what did it consist of. You want to leave something behind, a legacy for other people , that is what we are on this earth for. I want my legacy to be more than about money,”
she says.
Now that she has built up a successful business and her twins have grown into adults, her latest passion is in her life story where she inspires people by using her own adversities and challenges of life as examples to inspire them to go and live the life they are destined to live.
This vivacious charming personality has become a public speaker, author
and event organiser to show why life is so precious. Audiences not only learn from her considerable business acumen but about the importance of family bonds, self healing and helping others.
They are inspired by the humility of the mumpreneur who grew a business
from nothing at a time when she and her builder husband overcame many ups and downs including living in a caravan and the birth of the twins while they were building there dream home in a the rural part of Northern Ireland where they still live today. Just five years later, she ventured into business and started a career which continues to astound friends and neighbours who knew her when she was a struggling young mum.

Northern Ireland, public speaking and motivational workshops for
business start-ups following publication of her life story “I will be
home in 20 minutes”.
Business Success
Roslyn Bell is a self taught business woman. Her first business venture took her into the heady world of fashion, where she created, managed
and ran a popular ladies boutique which became a hub for those not only
wanting to keep up with fashion trends but became the source of healing
for many. It was there she first realised that people could learn from
her personal experiences and she had the ability to listen to others, one of her many talents.
Owning the shop sparked off the idea to go into property investing and this led to buying properties to rent. Within a few years this evolved into a thriving commercial properties portfolio both in Ireland and the UK.
Chester Success
Her latest gem is a four storey Grade 2 listed building within the walls of Chester’s famous historic City. The 2 shops above and below on the Famous Rows were rented to the upmarket hairdressers Essensuals – part of the Toni & Guy chain. The top 2 floors were unloved and dilapidated until Roslyn gave it her magic touch.
Following lengthy negotiation due to planning complications, Roslyn was finally able to create the upper floors of the Tudor building into a sophisticated four star holiday let business.
Two of the apartments have recently been awarded prestigious gold awards and they are also in the finals for Self Catering of the Year Award 2010. |
